1.4 How is the simulation structured?

The scenario is a seven-minute family (parent-teacher) conference. The first two minutes and ten seconds are left unstructured, with the dad responding naturally to the teacher candidate. Bennett is a cautious, slow to warm parent who will respond to questions when asked but is pretty taciturn in the beginning of the meeting. He wants to hear that the teacher sees his daughter’s strengths and can be offended if that isn’t happening.

After about two minutes, dad begins to interject, regardless of what the teacher is saying with several standardized lines. The lines most relevant for coaching are below:
